While the ship has well and truly sailed for anyone thinking of getting onboard Neo Geo AES (home cartridge) collecting, prices of Neo Geo CD games aren't anything like as scary, although a lot of titles have increased in price - multiplied, even - in the last 3 or 4 years. The CDZ is markedly better than the single speed Neo Geo CD top loader or front loader (but not twice as fast). The CDZ does have a bit of a reputation for being more delicate than the single speed consoles and it's the big Meg fighting games with their constant loading which give the console the biggest workout, although our experience over the years is that it's a reliable console. Our theory for it's seemingly unfair reputation is that when it was released, a lot of people bought one along with a pile of fighting games and proceeded to play it all through the night, probably in the presence of a group of friends, and after several all-night sessions, some consoles threw in the towel. It took a hammering that the single speed front loaders and top loaders never experienced because people weren't buying those consoles to play the fighting games all night long. Obviously we're not still partying like it's New Year's Eve on December 31st, 1995, and the idea of playing some of those big Meg fighting games, while exciting, isn't quite the major event that it was back then.

Japanese Neo-Geo CDZ system with 1 DARK GREY (as opposed to black) joystick, AV cables + S-Video cable and a Japanese 100v power supply and a choice of either an S-Video Cable or an RGB SCRAT Cable*. ACTUAL ITEM PICTURED. Game and TVs not included). It's not mint but it's a lot better than a lot of CDZs out there: They scratch so much more easily than the Top Loader Neo CDs and the Front Loaders. You only have to give one a sharp look and it will scratch! An unmarked used system is without doubt an urban myth.
NOTE: The RGB SCART cable is a brand new one (wired for UK/European TVs) and has not been tested. If you want one of these instead of the S-Video cable, let us know. Also let us know if you'd like us to unwrap the RGB SCART cable and test it before we send it.
