VF is generally regarded as the game which started off the whole 3D revolution. Without it, there might have been no Tekken, Dead or Alive or even Soul Calibur. When it was first released, it was truly a revelation, and though the flat-shaded polygons didn't look to real, the motion and movement was astonishing. The Saturn version was very close to the arcade, although looked a little rougher and suffered from a few glitches due to time restraints of the conversion. When seen now, the game looks "OLD", but the movement of the characters is still mesmerising, and the sound effects in the game are incredible, and create a huge impact, something missing from Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Fighter 3. Although pretty simplistic in terms of moves, the game still plays very well, and although VF2 is a far better game in almost every way, the original is still fun and those sound effects make it worth having... by adding this to your collection, you'll be owning a little piece of history!
