Virtua Fighter Remix For SegaNet Xband Netlink (GS-7103) by Sega
Saturn  |  Jap  |   2 Players   |   Fighting
After the launch success, the Saturn really was looking to be an inferior piece of hardware to the PS. Although it's Toshinden was a rubbish game, it was producing effects which Virtua Fighter simply did not show. Although Sega were working on VF2, a lot of people didn't believe they had any chance of pulling the conversion off, so around August '95, Sega released Virtua Fighter Remix which was essentially just VF with texture mapped polygons. It did look a lot more impressive than the original VF, and must have done it's job, because a lot of people got off Sega's back. The game was also released in the arcades on the ST-V board.
